冒頭では、生き延びることが唯一の目標とされる一方、勝つ方法は「参加しないこと」だという矛盾が示されます。流れへ逆らうべきか迷ううちに制御は失われ、機械は身体の一部になっても息苦しさは消えません。繰り返される caveat は、技術や体制が差し出す便利さの裏にある条件と危険を知らせる警告です。
