歌詞の意味
「あなたは終わりか始まりか」という問いの直後に、相手を自分を蝕むウイルスと呼ぶ。惹かれる気持ちと尊厳を弄ばれる感覚が同時にあり、歌の入口から関係は安定していない。そこから「桃源郷」と「滅びのバビロン」が並ぶため、美しい場所であっても壊れる可能性があることが示される。四季に合わせて舞い、花となって散るという表現も、いつまでも同じ形で残ることを約束しない。魅力があるからこそ、そこへ入ってくる人には、その場所の儚さと決まりを知ってほしいのだろう。
中盤で「ここに残りたいなら」受け入れろ、できないなら帰れ、と境界がはっきり引かれる。「Can you speak Japanese?」「礼儀を知らないの？」という問いは、ただ言語の知識を試すだけではなく、目の前の相手が景観や習わしを尊重しているかを問う流れの中にある。触らないでほしいもの、壊されたくない空間がある。「綺麗と思うなら、ありのまま愛して」と続くことで、美しさだけを消費して都合よく変えようとする態度への拒否が明確になる。相手を迎え入れる条件と、自分の場所を守る意志が、同じ言葉の中にある。
