北へ流れる一つの星を、自分の愛の欠片ではないかと見上げます。二人で夢を紡いだ日々は戻らず、追う手段もないため、語り手自身を「泣きかもめ」に重ねます。相手は何度呼んでも遠く、「北の北の流れ星」として夜空の先へ離れていきます。
波は岩肌を砕くように寄せ、風は頬へ冷たく刺さります。春夏が過ぎて冬支度へ入り、それでも遅い春は自分にも来ると信じます。北へ飛ぶ鳥には今日と明日の塒を探す群れがあるのに、港町では一人きりで涙まで凍ります。待ち続ける愛と、移動できない孤独の対比が最後まで残ります。
