人並みの消えた深夜に残るのは、遠いサイレンと、自分の歩幅に重なる拍である。誰かが決めた速度に追いつこうとする場面ではなく、周囲が静まったところで自分の進み方を確かめる場面から歌詞は始まる。「僕を探すLight」は外からの視線も思わせるが、続く「my own pace」が、その視線に歩調を支配させない姿勢を示している。明るい場所へ急ぐよりも、まず自分の足取りを認めることが、この夜の出発点になっている。
