歌詞の意味
頑張る自分に声をかけるところから、もう少し先へ進みたいという欲求が広がっていく。ここでの加速は、止まっていた人だけのものではない。「立ち止まってるわけじゃないけど」と断ったうえで、同じくらいの速さで走り続ける日々を見つめている。進んではいるが、慣れた速度の中で変化が見えにくくなる感覚だ。それを全然悪くないと認めてから、自分を超えたいと言うため、今までの努力を否定して新しい自分になろうとする話にはならない。すでに走っている自分の背中を、もう一度押すような言葉になっている。
力、時間、涙、隙間には、いずれも「少し」という尺度が添えられる。大きな才能や劇的な転機を待つより、手元に残る小さな力を使おうとする姿勢が見える。最高をさらに最高で更新するという表現も、完成した頂点を一つ決めるのではなく、その先を繰り返し作っていく考え方だ。「あと０秒」まで飛び、叫ぼうとする願いには、終わりが近い瞬間さえ諦める理由にしない意志がある。祭りや全開のエンジンという大きな比喩の内側に、少しだけ残ったものを大切にする言葉があることで、前へ出る行為が遠い理想だけでなく、今できる小さな選択として感じられる。
